PVR Daily Builds - RichD - 01-20-2012

Anyone know when the next official daily build is going to come out for the Generic i386 PVR? I heard the next kernel is going to support my Hauppague USB tuner.

Since your post some daily builds for the PVR version have been published.
have you tested them so far?

Re: PVR Daily Builds - RichD - 01-28-2012

Yes and my Happauge 950Q is working now! Just need to figure out how to get the EPG working. I am lost with that. I can't find a way to make an XMLTV file. I'll keep searching. I find relatively easy ways to do it for other countries, but not in the US.

Re: PVR Daily Builds - masterbug - 01-29-2012

Another good way to create xmltv files for me is mc2xml.

Re: PVR Daily Builds - RichD - 02-02-2012

So I need to run the XMLTV file creator on another machine like my Windows laptop? I was thinking there would be some add-on in XBMC that I could install and configure with my location and it would pull it.

Re: PVR Daily Builds - Gujs - 02-02-2012

Unfortunatelly not. All official xmltv grabbers are writen in perl, which we don't have in openelec as we want to keep really small system size. Tvheadend service addon ofers you a possibility to configure xmltv grabber to grab xmltv formated file from web or some local disk location.

Re: PVR Daily Builds - RichD - 02-02-2012

Thanks everyone for the assist. At least I know it can't be done inside XBMC anymore. I will try one of the suggested methods. I had not luck finding a web grab in the US. Believe I have to create the file and then dump it to a shared location. Will probably push it directly to the OpenELEC PC using a scheduled task. Seems easy enough once the file is created.

Re: PVR Daily Builds - RichD - 02-03-2012

ok - so now I have the xmltv.xml file but I don't know where to put it so tv-headend sees it. Would appreciate if someone would let me know.
