TVHeadend resume from sleep - read only filesystem - gsi095 - 03-27-2012

Hi,

I have tried a number of linux XBMC/PVR combo's running on a few linux distros.

Openelec is by far the easiest to get a PVR build and TVHeadend up and running and watching TV.

It took less than 20 mins from when I inserted the usb into the PC to watching TV. Most distro's are still installing in this time.

The fun ended when I found TVHeadend required extra steps to allow it to wake the system to record and this isn't possible on OpenELEC due to the read only file system.

Is there a creative way to get around this? e.g. create a special read/write version with PVR myself or convince someone smarter to help (if even possible with OpenELEC), or locate the files required for the wakeup function outside the read only file sytem to allow the system to wake from sleep and record.

I don't want a PC running all the time.

Thanks
Dave
