Re: Arctic MC001-E and other versions - celestion - 10-19-2012

Hi,

I have an MC001-N + DVB-T Tuner. Using it with OpenELEC 2.0 RC1 (have not had the time to update it to the final yet)

My hardware is as described above (no Harddisk, no DVD/BD), running OpenElec from USB stick. WLAN adapter is disconnect because I use the onboard LAN card.

I am very pleased with this machine, it is quiet, works fine with HD films (50Hz). Alltough there are some problems I have:

- I can't get the audio out on all the ports (HDMI, SPDIF, Analog) I need this to work on HDMI & SPDIF simultaniously.
- I can't get the DVB-T tuner to work, it is as no drivers ar there.

@Memes, how is your config working? are you experiencing the same problems?

---
Thnx

Re: Arctic MC001-E and other versions - Sidekick - 10-22-2012

Hi,

I don't get any sound out of the Arctic MC001.

Can you show me you audio settings?

I tried "custom and plughw:0,3" and also Generic HD-Audio.

Thnx

Re: Arctic MC001-E and other versions - Memes - 10-22-2012

Hi,

try Custom and plughw:1,3, that is what I got here.

As for the DVB-T, please hang on, I'll check that.

Re: Arctic MC001-E and other versions - celestion - 10-24-2012

@Sidekick

this is mine asound.conf:

Code:
pcm.!default {
type plug
slave {
pcm "hw:1,3"

}
}

And under System -> Settings -> Audio output
i have for both Audio output & Passthrough output device:
Custom: plughw:1,3

Not possible, Sorry (unless you build your own version with the dual audio patch, which is quite old now)

Thanks a lot, allthough I realy don't like what it says ;-( At least it means I can stop tweaking around...

Re: Arctic MC001-E and other versions - celestion - 10-27-2012

Hi *,

Quote:As for the DVB-T, please hang on, I'll check that.

Just now I updated to OpenELEC Verion 2.0, all fine

I had to use "pathsubstitution" to divert the Thumbnails directory on my NAS. This was to free some space on the 1GB USB Stick.

Still I am working on activating the DVB-T Tuner.

when I run dmesg from the command prompt I find these entries:

Code:
[ 8.334855] dvb-usb: found a 'USB DVB-T DEVICE' in warm state.
[ 8.334883] dvb-usb: will pass the complete MPEG2 transport stream to the software demuxer.
[ 8.336632] DVB: registering new adapter (USB DVB-T DEVICE)
[ 8.359151] RTL2832U usb_init_bulk_setting : USB2.0 HIGH SPEED (480Mb/s)
[ 8.589958] r8168: eth0: link down
[ 8.630057] RTL2832U check_tuner_type : FC0012 tuner on board...
[ 8.978771] input: eventlircd as /devices/virtual/input/input8
[ 9.205422] DVB: registering adapter 0 frontend 0 (Realtek DVB-T RTL2832)...
[ 9.205862] input: IR-receiver inside an USB DVB receiver as /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1d.7/usb1/1-1/input/input9
[ 9.206026] dvb-usb: schedule remote query interval to 287 msecs.
[ 9.206040] dvb-usb: USB DVB-T DEVICE successfully initialized and connected.

Some research I did brought left me with no hints on how to activate this Tuner in OpenELEC (perhaps it is already activated?)

OpenELEC says when I start Live TV: "No PVR Clients have been started"

Hope someone can point me in the right direction

Cheers!

Re: Arctic MC001-E and other versions - chansdad - 12-14-2012

This is a nice machine .
OpenElec 2.0 Stable.
-Created install disk on flash
-Installed Openelec on an old 512mb sandisk cruzer usb flash drive.
HD Audio an issue - tried a few settings and did not bother much as out of the box optical works just fine.
Tuner not recognized.
Openelec 2.95.5/ Latest development build
All works including the hdmi audio

Tuner is just not recognized .

Any one got the tuner to work ? I run the dmesg and do not see any lines with the dvb
