Audi card # keeps changing - Rickenbacker - 05-04-2012 The audio card number on my Asrock ION 330 keeps changing when I reboot which means that sometimes audio is working fine, other times I get the "Failed to initialize audio device" error message. There sdoesn't seem to be any "system" to whether a boot results in a system with working audio or not. Here is an example: Code: login as: root In the first instance where card is 0 everything worked fine. I ran "aplay -l" to get the first bit of the output shown above. I then reboote and this time the "failed to initialize message came up. I logged in again, ran aplay -l again and got the second instance of output. If I change the card number in my asound.conf file from 0 to 1 (or vice versa) I can then usually get it to work. Unless of course the next reboot causes the card number to change again. Using xbmcbuntu there is never this problem, the card number stays the same. The WAF factor is obviously non-existent with this problem, so is there a solution to this? Re: Audi card # keeps changing - ancalex - 05-05-2012 Check this topic, maybe will help you. Re: Audi card # keeps changing - Rickenbacker - 05-11-2012 That thread did help me and I now have a stable system. Thanks. |
