Limited resolutions in 'generic' build? - d3xx - 05-21-2012

I'm running beta 4 'generic' on an old Intel P35 board and using onboard video. All works well except XBMC provides few video resolutions with my LCD TV. The LCD is a native 1280x720 display. Yet i'm only provided with 640x480, 800x600, and 1024x768. Is there a way of manually adding 1280x768?

OK since VGA doesnt autodetect display capabilities (via EDID like HDMI) i have to define modes manually. I found some useful posts for customising /storage/.config/xorg.conf for specific resolutions which then become available in xbmc.
