Xtreamer Ultra 2 - LPCM 5.1 encoded movies sounds very strange - RuneW - 12-11-2012

I've ripped my whole BD collection and some of them has lossless PCM 5.1 sound. These, however, does not sound well at all. The receiver reports these audiostreams as being only 2 channel and it sounds like these two are the surround channels or something...

I've (at least tried to) installed the latest Frodo build from here:
http://sources.openelec.tv/tmp/image/

When checking the audio/video info on the Xtreamer it reports the audio as being "pcm_bluray 5.1", but popping up the audio info on the receiver (Onkyo 3009) it reports "PCM 2.0 ch" (see attached image).

In the system settings I have checked the option "Multichannel LPCM compatible receiver" (see attached image).

(sorry about the norwegian texts on this image - please use your imagination...)

I'm at wits end and have no idea about how to make this work. Any help would be great!');

why is your audio device different then your passthrough device?

Why.... I dunno... I have no good answer to that... I assumed that the receiver should only be set as the passthrough device. I never imagined that the receiver could also be set as the audio device Blush

I just tried to set the receiver also as the audio device and lo an behold, now it seems to work great!

Thanks a lot lrusak! :cheer:
