TVheadend cannot see HD Homerun - rackit7 - 01-15-2013

I rcently install Openelec (ver 2.0 for generic intel build) and TV Headend. I just purchased a Silicon Dust HD Homerun tuner and have been unable to get TV Headend to see the tuner. I installed the driver from OpenElec add-ons. I then updated dvbhdhomerun.sample to include the serial numbers in a new file called dvbhdhomerun.conf. I have no other files in the Userdata/add_ondata/driver.dvb.hdhomerun.

Note: I created this file with textedit on a Mac and copied it through a share to the Userdata/add_ondata/driver.dvb.hdhomerun/ directory. I am a noob at Linux and I am not sure if this is problematic.

I have been reading several of the posts on the forum and it looks like I might not have a complete driver. I saw the below post from Ultraman and thought it may apply to me but wanted to get some help first.

Any assistance to get this working would be appreciated.

Run this commands and post link.
Code:
paste /var/log/dvbhdhomerun.log
paste /var/log/messages

Thanks Ultraman.

The first line returned
"Unable to read from: /var/log/dvbhomerun.log"

The second line returned the link

I looked at the contents of dvbhdhomerun.log

Num of devices = 0
No HDHomeRun devices found! Exiting

Re: TVheadend cannot see HD Homerun - rackit7 - 01-15-2013

I ran "userhdhomerun" and received the following result:

Seems some timing issue. Try to add some delay - run this in console and reboot
Code:
echo "sleep 2" >/storage/.xbmc/userdata/addon_data/driver.dvb.hdhomerun/extra-wait.sh

Re: TVheadend cannot see HD Homerun - rackit7 - 01-17-2013

Ultraman

Thanks. I added the code then verified the file and contents were in the specified directory and re-booted. Still when I try to configure the adapter in TVHeadend HDHomerun is not there.

Re: TVheadend cannot see HD Homerun - ultraman - 01-17-2013

Try to use sleep 10. It should work because you already saw adapter with userhdhomerun. Or run this command as soon as possible after boot to see if it shows or not.

Ahhhh! Success! Thanks!

Re: TVheadend cannot see HD Homerun - ultraman - 01-17-2013

Good!

You can use 5 seconds delay or just experiment a little. I don't own this device that's why the addon is not perfect because don't understand how exactly does it works and behaves.
