Linux 3.8 Kernel for Intel HD Audio - plupien79 - 02-22-2013

Are there plans to push this kernel for the Intel Builds?

This is the Kernel that has support for HD Audio.

If no support is planned, is there a way for users to upgrade to this kernel manually?

I believe the OpenELEC devs backported the HD audio patches to 3.7, the latest RC should support it.

From RC3 announcement:

"HD-Audio on Intel HDMI devices is now working out of the box. You must of course meet the hardware requirements (HD2000+)."

O MY, It really work.
DTS doesn't work for me, but I've got 5.1 WOOHOO

Why exactly is HD2000 graphics required? My Celeron G530 (base Intel HD graphics) outputs DTS-HD in Windows but not in XBMC?

Linux 3.8 Kernel for Intel HD Audio - FuN_KeY - 03-13-2013

Can someone clarify this?

DTS-HD and TrueHD does not work on my system either. The video does not stutter but I don't get any sound.

Here is my configuration:
- OpenElec 2.99.5 (tried 2.99.4 either)
- Intel G620 with HD Graphics
- Onkyo HT-R358
- DH67CF

Here is the log: http://pastebin.com/84CvLgBJ

Have you blacklisted the SP/DIF modules?

To be honest, I forgot to do it when I took this log; but I did it afterward and it didn't helped.

I might try with my laptop (i5 520M with HD Graphics)

So, I gave a try on my laptop (Dell e6400 with i5 520M) and no HD Audio either

Whilst bitstreaming of HD codecs works on my system, it results in the video playing at 12 fps and thus audio is also very slow.

I must sound like a broken record by now Tongue

I've also tried Win7 + XBMC and everything worked perfectly. The only reason why I came back to OpenElec is because the Win7 Intel driver limits colour range when connected via HDMI.

I just tried OpenElec 3.2.3 and still can't get HD Audio from my G530. Is there any way to get this supported in OpenElec since it is supported in Windows?
