Why should I update to 3.0.1 (from 3.0.0) - heisenberg - 04-21-2013

Hello,
is there any reason, why I should update to 3.0.1 comming from 3.0.0?
Much better performance, or new features?
I overclocked mine to 900mhz and everything is going well and
I heared about some guys, who lost all setups by making small misteaks during updating.

So is there a reason?

Greetings from Hamburg,
Chris

every update means patching or fixing known error, so theoretically it will be better than previous version, but sometime it creates new problem that didn't exist before, read the change log, if it good for your hardware then good to go, or help the dev by trying it and report the error

Thanks for your answer 2ami!
I allready read the changelog (on github), but I don't know, what all these stuff exactly means.
I have a raspberry pi and looking for some answer like:
"The update is the best I ever have done in my whole life, every thing is much smoother and faster then before"
or
"I don't notice any difference between 3.0.0 an 3.0.1"

Why should I update to 3.0.1 (from 3.0.0) - rogerjonze - 04-21-2013

3.01 killed my install on Apple TV 1. I would wait a little while and let others take the arrows in the back before upgrading.

I couldn't wait anymore and installed the update. First I was shocked, cause it seems like everything is lost. But then I made the following Steps (I made them before updating) backwards:
Quote:When you have enabled an SSH connection you will have to type (or carefully copy and paste) the following commands. To backup your old config:
cp -r /storage/.xbmc /storage/.xbmc.bk

To remove the old config (XBMC must be configured from scratch, including any addons/databases):
rm -rf /storage/.xbmc

You may also want to make a backup of your Config Files folder (/storage/.config) if you use a netmount.conf, samba.conf, or autostart.sh
cp -r /storage/.config /storage/.config.bk

Then remove your Config folder
rm -rf /storage/.config

For Details have a look here:

But now, it seems like, that I have installed 3.0.1 (this is shown on the first bootscreen). But is this possible, because I turned back all the config files???
