Xtream Ultra 2 problem in sound since 3.0.2 ! - Alkis30 - 05-29-2013

Hello guys. I have a big problem in my sound since Openelec 3.0.2 (I did not have the problem in 3.0.0 ..) and I can not find any solution for it ! I have an Xtreamer Ultra 2 HTPC connected with optical cable in a Samsung DVD all-in-one audio receiver. When I play .avi and .mkv files, every 30-40 seconds audio becomes harsh and broken for 5-6 seconds and then it returns to normal state again !!! This happens mostly in .mkv files (in both .ac3 and .dts audio ones). I changed the optical toslink cable but the problem remains... I have used both "OpenELEC Stable - ION x86_64 3.0.3" and "OpenELEC Stable - Xtreamer x86_64 3.0.3" with the same results ! My XBMC sound configuration is the following :

Audio Output : Optical/Coax
Speaker Configuration : 5.1
Boost volume level on downmix : Disable
Output stereo to all speakers : Disable
Dolby Digital (AC3) capable receiver : Enable
DTS capable receiver : Enable
AAC capable receiver : Disable
Audio output device : HDA Intel ALC892 DIGITAL S/PDIF
Passthrough output device : HDA Intel ALC892 DIGITAL S/PDIF

As I said before , in the past, I did not have this audio problem with the above settings and setup ! At least in version 2.9 and 3.0.0 of Openelec that everything worked OK ! Can someone help me with my problem and give me a hint to solve it ? Thanks in advance.

For start you should post xbmc log. First enable debugging under System/System/Debugging. Then play some file and when you get problems paste log file
Code:
paste /storage/.xbmc/temp/xbmc.log
and post link you get.

If you have any old asound.conf file remove it - it's not needed anymore.

OK Done. I have attached the zip log file with every information

in it..

You must enable debug logging and also set speaker numbers to 2.0.

It would also be helpful if you followed/used the "paste" command that you were given, because then we (and you) don't have to mess about with forum attachments and we can just look at the logfile URL online. FWIW, I use an Ultra2 with SPDIF output here with no problems.

OK. I set speakers number to 2.0. I played a mkv and after 1 min the sound became harsh and broken for about 6-7 sec. After that I stoped the file. How can I use the paste command to put xbmc.log results ?

Just run the command *exactly* as given in the original instruction and the OS will send the file to our preferred paste site and you'll be shown a URL which you can paste here. Not hard really..

I will also want to let you know that the problem appears only in files with 5.1 audio (ac3 or dts). There is no problem in files with 2.0 audio (avi) or mp3s..

Here is the xbmc.log

In case you have not solved your problema (I think I did) you may want to to look at this thread:
http://openelec.tv/forum/68-audio/57509-24p-audio-delay?limitstart=0

I am not an expert but from your log, you seem to be at 23.976 fps within the range of a default audio delay. In the above thread you will find waey to avoid it. Good luck!
