Fusion + nvidia gpu - Luivit - 06-22-2013

Hello, I am going to buy the motherboard asrock E350M1. I have read that this card in linux can not pass dts-hd (as a matter of drivers).
In order not to change everything I thought about buying a nvidia GT520. Now I want to understand if a card made for pcie 16x can work well on a pcie 4x (the mobo is provided only for this slot). Then, as it is in the mixed system (fusion + nvidia) which version of OpenELEC should I install?

Just use the Generic version. It works in my system.

Thanks, do you think it is better to take a new gpu or install a sound card to pass dts-hd?

To passthrough DTS-HD, TrueHD - a new sound card won't do - as it requires HDMI. So in that case - only a new GPU will help - something like Geforce GT610.

Is GT610 able to view a fullhd video or dvb-s tv fullhd?

Yes.
