No Analog sound OE 3.1 Fusion build (E-350) - deafrabbit - 06-28-2013

Hey,

Since I updated to OE 3.1 (from 3.0)I have no analog sound on my Asrock E350M1 machine. HDMI sound works normal but when I switch to analog sound I hear nothing. This has to be a software problem because when I boot windows and switch to analog it still works.

I remember I had a custom setting when I used OE 2.0 but it seems you can't simply choose custom in the audio settings anymore.

Is this a bug or was my system corrupted in the updating process?

Not sure, if you don't post xbmc.log somewhere :-) (to Add works on my E350 machines, no asound.conf needed)

This was more of a general question about OE 3.1. But I'm happy for personal support Smile

Hope this is the right file. At the moment I can choose Audio output device between:
-HDA ATI SB, ALC892 Analog
-HDA ATI SB, ALC892 Digital S/PDIF
-HD-Audio Generic, HDMI

But I remember there was a option to choose custom and I entered "plughw:0,3" for HDMI sound and "plughw:1,0" for anolog sound. As said this option is missing now...

That old option is not needed anymore. Try to remove your custom asound.conf and retry.
HDA ATI SB, ALC892 Analog <- is the correct Analog Config.

Thanks for the quick answer.

Okay I removed it with:

Code:
rm -rf /storage/.config/asound.conf

Unfortunatly it did nothing. But actually I never created this file and as far as I know if this was the problem sound wouln't have worked on OE 3.0 either (?), but it did (even with GUI sounds). Any other idea?

By the way I forgot to insert the log on the last post

In you case it did not harm - have seen it differently for more than 1000 times now, as people copy some howtos to have "dual sound output" and totally fuck it up, cause not knowing what they are doing - so my first thing I let them do is: remove your asound.conf. Xbmc with AE is designed to not need it anymore. If you want Opera Browser to make a single beep, then you need it again.

Please get me the following:
Code:
aplay -l | pastebinit
aplay -L | pastebinit
cat /storage/.xbmc/temp/xbmc.log | pastebinit
The last one with debugging turned on and additional please link me a screenshot of your audio settings.

okay unfortunatly I have no idea what I just did but here is the result:

Exact same hardware as I have. Analog Card is there and also should be working:

What happens with:
speaker-test -c2 -Dplughw:2,0

What makes me wonder: there is card0 and card2 - did you tune any other files? Can you check if the Audio device changes on every reboot, via aplay -l?
