Review: Cheap Celeron 1037U Mini PC (IN-1037UA) - doug - 01-12-2014

I got one of these 2 days ago and OE4.0 (development build) is working great!

I boot from an old USB drive with a slow 15MB/s read speed (hdparm) and I still find it quite responsive. I know an mSATA SSD would be faster, but would it be really noticeable (in activities like scrolling through a video library or loading thumbs in Pictures)?

What about CEC on these devices?

Experience anyone?

The Pulse-Eight USB-CEC adapter should work with any videocard.

Have my new Gigabyte C1037U-EU mobo working now as a dualboot, part Office PC, part OE monster. All quiet. :-)

PS: the amazon link is just for reference purposes. I bought the motherboard in a local shop. And cheaper too.

Do you mean you use this remote with Openelec on that box ? No install needed? This remote acts just as a keyboard and mouse I guess ?

+ What about heavy skins like Aeon Nox on this box?

Sorry for all the questions, I just need a new box in the living room, and this looks nice to me Tongue

I don't understand why you all think this box is cheap? If I add price + shipping + taxes it is not much cheaper than a MSI Wind Box that has the same CPU and chipset, but additionally even USB 3.0, WLAN and real warranty.

yes, yes, yes.
just plug.n.play
dont forget that TV buttons are programmable. so one IR control for all technics in your video system.

Mass13 post=96441 Wrote:+ What about heavy skins like Aeon Nox on this box?
im using skin.aeonmq5 - absolutely smooth on any screens with intel HD 2500 integrated
