NAS drive won't spin down - Peacock-Smith - 01-12-2014

Can someone help me... Ive got the latest stable version of openelec on my raspberry Pi. works a treat, and I have finally accepted that it isnt a bad thing that it is on all the time

My NAS drive that is plugged into my router wont spin down. All of my vidoe files are on here, and the NFS address is set up in openelec.

Can someone give me some pointers in terms of how I can make this happen... Id like my NAS drive to go into a powersave option iver night, when Im not using my raspberry PI

are you using the NFS client function within XBMC or did you read the "please give me more pain" tutorial and locally mount everything?

Hi Chewitt - thnaks for your response... I dont understand your reply. when I set up openelec, and selected Browse - I chose NFS and browsed to the local Ipaddress of my NAS drive.

something like \nfs192.168.2.14sharedvideos etc

Should I set this up differently?

None of my drives are plugged into the raspberry pi.

I don't think it's an NFS thing. I connect via SMB, and my NASses don't spin down either. Unless the HTPC is powered down, of course. So, power down your Pi. If your NAS still does not go into sleep mode, it's a NAS problem.

Yep it's definitely my PI.. with my PI shut down, the NAS drive goes to sleep
