Intel NUC Kit Celeron N2820 2.4GHz - Is It Enough? - kociiide - 07-29-2014

Hi all,

This is my first post after looking for a few days into the NUC machines here on the forums. But I do have a specific question.

Im looking to purchase an upgrade to my existing ARM based xbmc player. I will be going for the following:

Intel NUC Celeron N2820 2.4GHz Version
60GB Kingston SSD
4GB DDR3L Kingston Ram

My question is, I am looking to use the AEON MQ5 skin, will the above spec be enough to run this very smoothly? I will only be playing 1080p movies direct from iceflims, navi-x etc.

Thanks in advance guys.

K

Well I can tell you that i just got my Celeron C1037U aluminum fan less and it's very snappy. It played a 1080P movie very well. I'm using Confluence for my skin so I don't know how intensive AEON MQ5 skin is. I play all my videos over the Network.

Specs
C1037U
2 gb ram
160gb notebook HD

here is what i bought exactly

Hi,that's my set up , other than I have a 500gb hardrive .
Mine has been spot on , I'm running same skin (modified I believe Prometheus skin) and it's been great so far.
Bargain really compared to apple TVs etc

Yes all most the same but the graphics are 2500 and the spec on the Prometheus 4400

One other note you may get 90 days to 1 Year warranty and you hope who you bought it from is still in Business. Prometheus comes with 2year warranty and you don't have to send it back to China

Same risk with Prometheus if you ask me. Will they still be in business in 2 years?
