Cannot force WD 1TB to work - toyman19 - 04-27-2015

Hello,

I am trying to make my WD My Passport 1TB to work with Pi2, tried usb hub (it has 2V, 500mA listed on the back), now I am trying with max_usb_current (using leopolds repo) and to provide power I use quite decent 2A power supply. On hub it made squichy sounds all the time, now with max_current seems fine however I will leave logs so you can take a look and possibly help me out:

Please don't post log snippets. Full logs are better. Also use pastebin or pipe the output to the "paste" command (ei, dmesg | paste)

http://sprunge.us/FSRH <- dmesg, mount not helpful atm as drive is detached, please refer to the above Wink

No idea. How is the drive formatted?

Cannot force WD 1TB to work - chewitt - 04-28-2015

It's probably the same WD stupidity that prevents my 1.5TB Passport from mounting on my 13" MacBook Pro (2014, retina) when it works fine on my older 13" MacBook Pro (2011, non retina). I have assumed it is power related.. and I will eventually find the PSU to the one powered USB hub that I own to prove the theory.

Irusak -> NTFS,

Chewitt -> I guess need to buy active usb hub as well
