Install OpenELec 5.0.8 on RPI 2 - bbgarnett - 06-08-2015

Hello I am assuming this is the right place to ask this question ,

Anyways I just purchased this 16 GB class 10 Transcend card from Amazon for use with my Raspberry Pi 2

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CBD0XSI?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00

Anyways I downloaded the latest Arm V7 version of Kodi 5.0.8 and used Win32 DiskImager to install the IMG file and then stuck the card into my Raspberry PI 2 and it booted up and said was resizing /storage etc etc then said rebooting in 15 seconds. Then it reboots but just gets stuck on the OpenElec splash screen so it says Openelec (official) - version: 5.0.8 in the corner and just sits at this screen and doesn't progress any farther. so not sure what is going wrong, Before I just had some Crappy 1GB no Name no class rating card in there probably purchased from eBay years ago and that installed it just fine but wanted to buy a nicer/faster card, so any ideas on why it's not working. Also I stuck the old card back in and it booted into Kodi normally. Another thing to note is I did have my Pi overclocked before but I don't think that should effect anything as this is a clean install on a new SD card so the original config file would be that I made changes too is all located on the old card.

Thanks,

It's not your card it is openelec that is the problem. Every install goes corrupt. Garbage.

then how come it worked perfectly fine with no issues on my previous card.

Seems some cards are having issues,
Some more then others.
Using my sandisk class 10 card without any issues now.
They are still looking into the issues why some cards get corrupted.

OK well I thought I bought this card because it specifically said it worked or at least I thought I read that but maybe I am mistaken and was reading that it worked well with the Raspberry Pi 2 and not necessarily OpenElec but I'll try the latest beta as 5.9.51 and see if that will install as it looks like they may have fixed SD card compatibility issues maybe?

EDIT: Well I guess it was the card it didn't like as I had a 32GB Sandisk Ultra Class 10 inside my Nintendo 3DS so I took that out and copied everything from that onto my Transcend card and then stuck the transcend card into the 3DS and used the Sandisk card in the PI 2 and Kodi installed just fine.

never had a corruption ... ever on pi B (256MB), pi B (512MB), piB+ or pi2B

perhaps you're doing it wrong

I just stick with SandisK 8gb micro sdhc or standard size depending on the type of pi you use, since the pi was first released. No need for anything bigger.

The NOOBS card is good: http://swag.raspberrypi.org/products/noobs-8gb-sd-card

The Noobs preinstall from .org also use Sandisk 8gb cards for their cards. At least one that we bought from them to see if they're any good was!
