Cloning 8GB SD Card to 32GB SD Card - bboyc_82 - 08-01-2015

Hey guys,

I'm new to the forum. Some background info of my setup, I have a RPi2 that came with a preloaded 8GB SD card with Noobs installed. I installed Raspbian which runs RetroPie and on the other partition I am running OpenELEC 5.0.8 with Kodi 14.2. I took the 8GB SD card and cloned the image using Terminal on my Mac. I then took this image and loaded it to a 32GB card, used GParted to expand both partitions to use the whole 32 Gigs.

Now I created a backup in Kodi by going to OpenELEC > System > Create System and Kodi Backup. I did this when it was the 8GB card. After cloning the image to the 32GB card, if i "Restore Backup" on the 32GB card will this work since the backup was created using the 8GB image? Hope that makes sense and let me know if you guys need clarification on anything.

And sorry for the long post for a simple question.

The Backup/Restore tool does not handle partitions as a whole. It simply 'zips' all the important files from the Storage partition into 1 archive file.

So if I restore from backup on the new 32gb card it should just setup kodi how I had it on my 8gb card no problem then, correct?

"No problem..."? There's always Murphy's Law, but it should work, yes.
