No sound after rebooting - tiffany98101 - 11-01-2015

Hi there. I recently installed Openelec on a generic PC (AMD Athlon II, ASUS EVO motherboard) and have it set to send sound and video out via HDMI. Every time I reboot it, the sound goes away. If I look at the sound settings, they haven't changed since the last time I have rebooted. If I change one setting, it comes back. I typically go into system settings and toggle "Stereo Upmix" to either on or off, which brings the sound back.

Here are the settings I am using:

Audio Output Device: HDA ATI, HDMI
Number of channels: 2.0
Output Configuration: Optimized
Resample quality: Medium
Keep Audio Device Alive: 1 Minute
Everything else is turned off.

Have any of you heard of this happening, and know how to fix this?

Not sure if this narrows it down, but here is what I see when I look at dmesg:

I believe I have the same problem. I always toggle the passthrough option on and off once after boot. After that, sound works fine. Will try to follow up with a full bug report & log file in the next few days.

As promised, here is a log file describing the problem (with component "audio" enabled):
http://xbmclogs.com/pz35pzftz
- After boot, I start a video file
- As usual, there is no sound
- Whith the video file still playing, I enable passthrough and disable it again
- Audio output works now works as intended
- stop video and start kodi log uploader

Filed as a bug report in Github here: https://github.com/OpenELEC/OpenELEC.tv/issues/4425

Well, I booted up Openlec this morning, but didn't actually play anything for a few hours, came back and then opened started navigating the UI and now it works without having to toggle any settings. So maybe there was an update or maybe there is some type of performance issue where you just have to wait a while?

No sound after rebooting - CodaMan - 11-15-2015

I just upgraded to 6.0 today and I have the same problem reported here. If I have working audio and then suspend the device and then wake it up the audio remains active, but if I reboot it the device the audio is gone and I have to change any audio setting to get it working. Anyone have ideas on how to fix this?
