Need help setting up VPN on Kodi 16.1 Jarvis Build - tester2006 - 05-05-2016

I've installed Kodi Jarvis 16.1 on my Amazon Firestick. It seems to be working just fine but I'd like to install a VPN service for privacy. I have an account with TigerVPN and also ivacy.com but I'm having difficulty getting either to work. I'm not sure TigerVPN can support Kodi but ivacy does based on these instructions: https://support.ivacy.com/kb/setup-ivacy-vpn-for-openelec-on-kodi/

The only problem is I am unable to access the Unofficial OpenElec Media Center repository for some reason. Everytime I try to install from repository I get an errors saying Could not connect to repository. I was able to install OpenVPN version 6.0 through another repository and was able to install the ivacy client but I am unable to connect. I believe either I need to get OpenVPN 6.0.1 and/or may not have the correct OpenElec version I need to run. Can anyone assist?

AFAIK there exist no version of OpenELEC for you Amazon Firestick. This hardware is not supported by OpenELEC.

The solution posted is outdated and I guess the new way to setup VPN on Kodi as mentioned in https://www.kodivpn.co/ any good leads for complete setup that works with setting up VPN for Kodi on OpenELEC will be quite helpful for me.

Kodi lets you stream movies, TV shows, and Live TV from channels around the world thanks to hundreds of add-ons available. But you need VPN to protect yourself from ISP intervention. Kodi VPN guide lets you setup VPN on Kodi with a few simple steps.

There are several opinion on this point. Some procedure in setting this are outdated, yet that those not stop us from trying something new. Meanwhile, Kodi let you stream movies, TV series show and many more.

As for me, I have been using Kodi on my Amazon FireStick, and it gives me enormous freedom. For private streaming on Kodi, I use Express VPN that works best with Kodi (more info on https://www.firesticktricks.com/best-vpn-kodi.html ). Also I have just installed Exodus addon and it is incredible. It allsows me to obtain easy access to movies and TV-shows. My hubby uses FireStick for SportsDevil addon mostly. It gives him unlimited access to the sports world

I've used NordVPN in the past. It always worked by going to Android system Settings > Wireless and Networking > More > VPN and logging in to one of Nord's servers with your userID and password.

You shouldn't need to do any setup in Kodi at first because they also had an app that you could use at startup. Therefore, Instead of using TigerVPN you can use Nord or Bullet VPN they both work on Kodi. A clear guideline I found https://thevpn.guru/install-kodi-18-firestick-guide/ They have a complete setup guide for Kodi VPN which you can use.
