Shouldn't HDMI Playback Device Be Shown by aplay?

ASUS F2A85-V Pro w/ AMD A10-5800K
Linux openelec 3.2.31
System is setup to boot/run from USB stick currently.
HDMI ran directly to the plasma tv.
Audio output is set to HDMI with AC3 & DTS disabled.
The only playback devices shown by aplay -l are the generic HD audio ones ?

Nevermind - just wanted to update that I had to use the testing version:2.99.2 (3.0 RC 2)
It recognized my HDMI playback devices and audio worked after disabling everything except output stereo to all speakers.
