Since i've bought my Raspberry PI i've got issues with playing audio (mp3 / flac) over HDMI. I'm using Openelec 3.2.4.
Problem
When i listen to music i can hear i crackle ( = produce a strange noise). It starts at random: mostly after a few songs and sometimes it can take up to an hour or so before it starts. It seems to me it is a sync issue with my Philips 40pfl7007. It can happen everywhere in a song and is annoying!
Perhaps of interest: My Pi is far from stable. Every now and then it locks up and i have to reset it. If i'm lucky it reboots, if not i have to reinstall it.
I've tried
Three HDMI (fast speed) cables, same result.
Play audio over analogue output, no crackling.
Play audio from PC over HDMI to TV, no crackling.
audio settings
audio output: hdmi
speaker configuration: 2.0
