Executing hd-idle via SSH

I have added a feature request to spin down external hdd here

Until then I think I can run hd-idle via ssh

I have tried running

Code:

hd-idle -t sda2

but it doesnt seem to spin down my disk.

In the docs for hd-idle it says it reads /proc/diskstats for information, without it, it wont work.

My diskstats exists but there is nothing in it.

Does anyone know why and/or what does it need it contain?
