No mounting of external ntfs USB drives on Zotac HD-ND22

Hello,

i can't figure out how to get external usb drives (ntfs) mounted. I do know that the system has only write access to the files stored in /storage, but i did not change anything on the system and other people do not seem to have this problem.

OpenELEC is installed on the internal SSD drive. I do not use the SSD for data. It is used only for the operating system. All data that i do have is stored on external drives.

Is there anything that i can do to get OpenELEC to automatically mount external drives for READ and WRITE access as soon as they are plugged in?

Shame to me, i did not read "carefully" which version of OpenElec i need! I downloaded the ION-Version, but as the Zotac HD-ND22 has a CULV-CPU, i need the generic one.

With the generic version all is fine!

What build is this not working on? i just tested latest nightly, and there it works fine.

/dev/sdc1 on /var/media/New Volume type fuseblk (rw,relatime,user_id=0,group_id=0,default_permissions,allow_other,blksize=4096)

I can downgrade to 1.0.2 or whatever you are on to try to reproduce there. but to do so i need to know which version you are on.

wow, I just realized I made the same mistake cause I didnt catch that ion builds are targeted for atom + ion. I am working with the ND22 like you

XBMC wasnt able to recognize my SMB shares and as soon as I switched to generic build- problem solved

Sorry if my question is silly, but I'm a complete Linux newbie, so please bare with me. I run Mandrake 10.0, and I'm having troubles mounting an external usb disk (NTFS-formated) quick. When I try to connect to computer's USB port, nothing happens. What should I do?
