VL Systems L.I.S. MPlay 202 VFD Support

Would like to see support added for this VFD. lcdproc has a driver for it (lis.so), could this be added to the openelec builds? lis driver depends on libusb.

note: i've tried adding lis.so manually, but when starting up LCDd it errors saying it needs libftdi.so.1

note2: i've unsquashed the SYSTEM image, added lis.so to /usr/lib/lcdproc, libftdi.so.1.18.0 to /usr/lib and a symlink libftdi.so.1 to libftdi.so.1.18.0, edited the LCDd.conf to use the lis driver. mksquashed the the files into a new SYSTEM image, replaced, rebooted, et voila. The VFD works now. Did this with the newest FUSION build (r9192). Although the r9192 changed some stuff, but that's for another thread.

note3: hmm.... not everything is as rosy as it seemed. after the alterations, my other partitions on the harddisk are no longer automounting... anyone have an idea?

The vlsystem VFD is also used in a lot of barebone systems i.e. for the VIAKO lines. I would love to see support for this. There is another request also on this forum for support:

it was working as per the instructions in note2 in the first post. but waking from sleep borked it, but i think that was more of a general xbmc problem since it seemed to happen with other VFD as well. the automounting problem was because i didn't properly unsquash/squash the files back into an image, had nothing to do with the VFD.
if you want real support without hacking you will have to wait for the driver to be included in the openelec image files.
