Hi everybody - I'm pretty new to OpenELEC and Linux, so please bear with me
!
Last night I downloaded the Generic OSS build (OpenELEC 2.0 (Beta 3) - 1.95.3 - i386 (107 MB) MD5) and loaded it onto my old machine via USB. Install was very fast and smooth. Everything seems to work great, except for the network.
I've played around with the OpenELEC network settings (tried eth0 and eth1, set to LAN, no static IP, etc), but I can't seem to get the thing to be able to talk with my router via my built in LAN. I assume it's a driver issue, but I don't know how to be sure. Could be user error for all I know!
I'm using an old ASUS P4800D-X with an Intel P4 2.4ghz CPU.
Link to my motherboard on ASUS site: http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Intel_S...ifications
Would anybody be able to tell me if my built in LAN controller is compatible, or explain to me how to check? If it is not compatible, do I simply need to purchase a separate network card?
Thanks!
Paul
