Happened to have the Netgear, and to a first approximation it seems to be found OK - dmesg says:
[ 2.558934] usb 1-1.2: Product: NETGEAR WG111v2
[ 2.558948] usb 1-1.2: Manufacturer: NETGEAR WG111v2
[ 2.558963] usb 1-1.2: SerialNumber: 000FB5D39D5F
lsmod says:
Module Size Used by
rfcomm 31273 0
bluetooth 182192 3 rfcomm
rtl8187 49672 0
eeprom_93cx6 2047 1 rtl8187
(rtl8187 is the relevant module)
Ifconfig wlan0:
wlan0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:0F:B5
3:9D:5F
UP BROADCAST MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1
RX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
TX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000
RX bytes:0 (0.0 B) TX bytes:0 (0.0 B)
I've used the OpenElec "OS Settings" to configure Network 2 for WLAN, WLAN0, WEP and the correct SSID and key.
The router (another Netgear) shows no association.
