I am having difficulty configuring my Synology 209II+ (DSM 4.2) to accept files from OpenELEC (3.0) that’s running on Lenovo Idea Center PC. I’ve enable SABnzbd, Sickbeard, and configured them to save completed files to the “video” folder on the NAS.
Initially OpenELEC was not able to access folders on the NAS. I followed the instructions to configure NFS shares with Synology (http://wiki.openelec.tv/index.php?title=...h_Synology) which resolved the issue. Now the video folder on the NAS can accessed from OpenElec.
Unfortunately SABnzbd issued post processing failure messages when the files were being transferred from OpenELEC to the NAS. I discovered that OpenELEC is not able to write the files to the “video” folder on Synology.
I confirmed this by logging onto OpenELEC through the local network with a Sony Vaio (Windows 7) and attempted to create a sub-folder in the “video” folder on Synology, I received “Destination folder access denied – You need permission to perform this action”. Interestingly I am able to delete files, but not rename them or create new sub-folders. When I log directly onto NAS there is no issue creating a sub-folder or renaming files in the “video” folder.
I’ve spent hours checking the permissions on the NAS and searching online for a solution with no success. I’ll be very grateful for any suggestions that can resolve this issue. Thank you in advance!
