Thanks ultraman I copied the file but not sure what to edit.

Is this on-disk-cache folder only generated after boot? I just dont know why its coming up during the system boot process that the folder is not there when it is?

Me neither - I just update the sources for spotify so openelec can be compiled with it.

OK well I found that this RAM disk option moves the spotify cache to the RAM on start up to overcome playback issues from slow HDD, USB, SD etc... (I'm on USB3 drive and the R/W speed is fine for spotify)

I found by disabling the RAM disk function under performance settings my setup is working much smoother as obviously my cache was not working properly before.

Just a heads up for anyone having similar problems.
