can't figure out how to make the usb key to work

every time i've tried to make the usb key the terminal gives me an error

I use an sd in an adapter. It's a 512mb mmc.

Compare the MD5 or byte count against the file you have downloaded. I believe the file is truncated or damaged because it should be around 140MB not 54MB. The previous (non offline) file looks about the right size but you can validate the file in the same way.
