MB: Intel DG45ID
Video Card: Gigabyte Nvidia 9600GT
Openelec version: 4.2.1
I'm wondering if anyone have seen this before or can be so kind as to point me in the right direction on how I can get the HDMI audio working. I've connected the SPDIF header from the MB to the video card and it works fine in windows but for some reason I get no audio in Openelec. In windows I need to enable the default output device to "SPDIF-OUT (front)" and I'm able to get sound thru HDMI but in Openelec is a different story, I select SPDIF in XBMC audio settings and I get audio thru the SPDIF connector with no problems but I can't get any audio thru HDMI. I have played with all the different audio settings in XBMC but I get the same result.
Below is the output from aplay -l and aplay-L:
xbmc1:~ # aplay -l

I've installed Ubuntu but it is the same thing, I can only get audio thru SPDIF not HDMI and alsa shows the same as above.
There has to be a way to enable SPDIF header audio to be routed to the HDMI out since it clearly works in windows but I haven't been able to figure it out thru the countless searches and reading that I have done. I've researched it everywhere but I can't seem to find any relevant info on the subject.
BTW I could just live with SPDIF only but I plan to use an HDBaseT Extender Kit to install this computer in another room and I need the HDMI audio to work.
I appreciate any input you can provide and if you need any further info from my setup please let me know.
Thanks in advance.');
