Ok I think I've got it figured out.

I recently changed my backend machine to one of the new DC baytrail boards, so I started fresh but imported as much of the old myth as I could.

Here's my nfs export, probably simpler than what it was

/volume1/PXE/tftpboot *(no_root_squash,rw,async,no_subtree_check)

But the real discovery is the new setting in the mythtv addon to enforce a maximum delay. I cranked that to the max and now I can reliably view channels from my hdpvr tuner.

I've been struggling with this for years actually, and, even though the addon is using the mythtv api's and not cmyth, I think this delay parameter is what made it.

Is beta4 ready for primetime? Not yet, I've seen it hang a couple times, where the stable release is almost bulletproof at this point.

Not sure I'm still a fan of the KODI name, but things change, better to embrace and move on than to dismiss progress.

Don;t know about you guys, but I took the helix plunge on my main tv.

I started fresh at first and noticed that a few things I've been carying over for a long while are not as needed anymore.

Sure, mythtv is totally reworked under the hood, but my whole custom xorg.conf file I'm doing without for the time being.

enabled 16-235 in kody, and the framerate switching/sync is pretty good so far.

I then proceded to give it access to the main mysql library and had to rescan and lost some watched/in progress flags, but it's all good.

On the pxe end here's my config line

simple. every year it gets simpler and simpler to set up.
