Hi,

I have noticed that regardless of the number of channels in a movie (excluding stereo), my amp (sc-lx76) always outputs 7.1

Even with 5.1 Movie, it uses 7.1.

Whilst this is OK, it makes me wonder if the amp is playing around with the channels too much.

See my reply in the other thread, You will want to set your amp to "auto-detect" mode or similar.

Also, make sure upmixing is turned off.

Up mixing on the Amp or XBMC?

Yea, im not sure there is an "auto" detect mode on the amp. ive played around with the pre-sets (auto, optimal, direct etc) and it doesn't seem to make any difference.

Im wondering if because the amp is setup for 7.1 in MCACC it always up mixes regardless?
