Is LIRC missing in the Paspberry pi 2 image?

I can get it to work on Pi 1 but Pi2 no success.

LIRC is still there it just needs an extra line in your config.txt to work with the new 3.18.x kernel that is used on the RPI2.

If you setup your ir reciever with GPIO pin 18 being used for input (most tutorials I have seen use this pin, its the 6th pin down on the right hand side if your holding your pi with the usb ports facing towards you) you just need to add the following to your config.txt

if you used another GPIO pin add the following (replacing the 18 with the GPIO pin number your ir reciever is connected to)

dtoverlay=lirc-rpi,gpio_in_pin=18

I'm going to assume you know how to edit your config.txt file. However if you need i can give you some info as to how to do so.

Thank you so much it works perfect now. Pi 2 in my opinion is a better solution then the Nuc now for Openelec.
