Update to 5.0.6 kodi crashing AESink segfault

I updated my ASRock ION330 to OpenELEC 5.0.6 from 4.2.1 today, after reboot X comes up but I just get a mouse cursor and a black screen. I login via ssh and I see Kodi is restarting over and over again. Looking at he dmesg output I see AESink segfault error over and over.

I have tried both the X86-64 and i386 versons of OpenELEC 5.0.6.

Anyone else seen this? Google searches doesn't find anything.

Test on a clean install and report back

I tried a clean install and Kodi came up normally.

Once I restored my settings from a backup of 4.2.1 Kodi starts crashing again with AESink segfault error.

Guess i'll need to restore my settings manually.

Restore then remove guisettings.xml before rebooting. You'll retain Library etc. but the conflicting audio settings (or whatever the issue is) are eliminated.

My HTPC which is an ASRock 330 has the ION1 5.1 channel mapping hardware bug. After I reinstalled OpenELEC I setup the asound.conf file and selected the remapped sound device Kodi crashes.

According to the Kodi wiki AudioEngine now handles the channel remapping internally so the asound.conf file is no longer needed.
