Since I switched from xbmc to kodi, I have a weird video playback phenomenon. Some videos will not start properly, but instead the progress bar will directly jump to a certain value (e.g. 13 seconds) and stay there. No video or audio will start, only a progress bar is shown in the menu. This occurs always for the same videos, but the videos that are affected do not seem to be in any way special. Old and new videos are affected and the strange thing is that they have been encoded with exactly the same codecs and exactly the same program. Playback under xbmc was fine.
After playing around with kodi I have found a workaround which is to start the video (the progress bar will jump to 13 seconds), hit fast forward (the video will indeed start in fast forward mode), hit play again (the video will play back normally). This works, but is not nice, especially since the progress is not saved when stopping the video.
Any ideas why this happens and how to fix that? Your help is highly appreciated!
