Accidental double install - wrong Kodi is booting

OK, so I had a really old OpenELEC install, along with 1.2TB of movies etc. In order to upgrade, I decided to do a clean install to a second hard drive and just use the original drive for file storage. All went well and the new install was running fine, but when I rebooted, it went into the old Kodi rather than the new.

It is definitely booting from the new drive - it can't boot if I disconnect it. However the system then seems to load the old Kodi install (has users etc from the old one).

The filesystem looks like this (through the old Kodi):
Filesystem Mounted on
/dev/sda1 /flash
/dev/sda2 /storage
/dev/sdd1 /var/media/System
/dev/sdd2 /var/media/Storage

Judging by size, the new install is sdd1 and sdd2; and the original is sda1 and sda2.

I'm not very familiar with Linux and not sure if there is an easy fix!! Duh.

The problem is that you are having same labels on both drives. And tis doesn't work. You can change the labels with command e2label on old disk or use UUID instead of label.

I assume you are using Generic build right? Then you need to adjust correct /flash/extlinux.conf. There is a line

You need to change this two labels to UUID's. Some info is here for RPi - the only difference is that you are using file extlinux.conf.

If you can remove the old drive and new install boots fine then this few commands should fix the issue:
