I have homegroup set up on my windows 7 media pc so I can access my files from my other devices around the house. Recently I purchased a TV running android and I was about to get the Kodi app and connect to the media pc via upnp with no problems.
My old tv was placed in a different room, I purchased a raspberry pi 2, and I installed openelec on it in order to access the files on my media pc. When I go to add a source nothing comes up in upnp. If I look at windows smb, the media pc does appear, but it wants a login and password, which isn't anything I set up, so I'm not sure what to even put in. Just curious if there is a way to access the media pc easily through upnp. I have it turned on in my settings on the Pi and I know it works because my other PC's and smart tv can access it. I feel like I'm just missing a minor detail. Any help will do or if you need some more information let me know. Thanks.
