OpenELEC-imx6.arm-6.0.1 failed to update 6.0.0

Hi,
the Manual and automatic update failed on my cubox-ie4 pro.
The sytem file size check failed every time when i want to update.....and Installation is abort

As expected your System partition is not large enough - it is only 128 MB and this is exactly how much new KERNEL and SYSTEM files need.
You can try mounting SD card on Windows/Linux and copy files manually to the card. Or just reinstall 6.0.1 (maybe making backup first).

Is it possible to resize the system partition.
When I put the sd-card in my pc I can see the file system. Can I only copy the files over the existing to do the update?

You can resize with Linux or with some Live Linux CD.

You have to copy files from folder target and 3rdparty/bootloader to sd card. But I think there will be just not enough space. First copy files from sd card to computer in same safe place to copy it back if required.

I have now tested to copy the files but the system partition is too small.
Now I took a fresh sd-card and make a fresh installation of openelec 6.0.1.
Result is that the system partition is 512 MB and the ext4 partition is 32MB. Now I must also resize this ext4 partition, because the sd-card has 8GB.
I don't have a linux installation yet. There for I installed virtual box and ubuntu live cd. I started gparted to resize the partition but no sd-card is recognized. What a mess. Idon#t have an idea what to do.
Is there no tool in windows to easily resize the linux partitions. That can't be so complicated

Hi, to make a the sd-card available to the virtual machine, on Virtualbox toolbar - USB devices select the USB device for your card.
The sd-card should then auto mount in Ubuntu. Once done it will be available as per a physical device on the host machine.
