can not update to openelec plz help

i had apple tv 1st gen with crystalbuntu. so all i did to install openelec was copying the image (openelec atv-i386-6.0.1-hdd.img) to usb .

connected ethernet cable ,hdmi and the usb . powered the unit all i see in the beginning is the linux script and then black screen it took a while nothing happen . when i take out the usb i get my kodi14.1 under crystalbuntu .

plz what to do to update to kodi 16

That will not work. The Apple TV is no i386 device.

thank you for your time . but that posted in openelec site for apple tv 1st generation to use to creat usb installer
by copying the disk image . so if I'm mistaken then what disk image can i use to make usb installer thank you god bless

I cannot help you, but regarding this page, the 6.0.1 image contains Kodi version 15.2.

There are TWO images linked on http://chewitt.openelec.tv/appletv and if you choose the USB one it will install to the USB (itself) not the HDD - so when you remove the USB it boots back into CB. If you choose the HDD image it will overwrite the CB intallation. With either image - If you see a black screen (after the OE logo e.g. Kodi does not show) a simple tweak to xorg.conf is probably required - but to guide you further you will need to tell how your TV is connected (HDMI, Component, Composite) and the max/native resolution of the TV.

There will be no OE version for ATV containing Jarvis. If I ever get around to finishing it (maybe in the next couple of weeks) there will be an LE build.
