Invalid argument

I have a Windows 10 computer with 2 internal hard drives and 2 external usb hard drives in the family room. The external usb hard drives contain all my movies and the internal drives hold other videos. I have successfully added the other videos from the internal drives but when I try to add the external usb files to my Pi (openelec Ver 7) Kodi Ver 16.1 Media Centre in the lounge room it sees all the drives but will only add the internal hard drives and not the usb drives and returns the error, "invalid argument" when trying to select them.
The other windows 10 computers in the house can access all the drives.
All computers/media centers are wired.
I have tried everything, does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?
