Goodmorning to everybody,
I'm experiecing some audio problems after recent update to OE 7.0.1 from 6.0.3
My system is composed of an ASUS Vivomini UN62 (i5 4210, 8Gb Ram) connected via HDMI to a SAMSUNG TV (55F8000). TV sends audio with optical cable to an amply Yamaha DSP A1
I haven't had any kind of problem with OE 6.0.3
After updating to 7.0.1, I am unable to get audio when play mp3 files or old avi files coded in aac. No problem to get audio in AC3 or Dolby digital.
Looking in several forums with similar issues, I've found out 2 curious behavour:
1) selecting "Output configuration fixed" I do have audio with mp3 and avi files, but the system does not passtrough AC3 or Dolby Digital, resulting in 2 channel audio.
2) lowering refresh rate from 30hz or less in video output, everything get back to working normally (beside the unplesent fact to have tv at 30hz!!!)
Is anybody experiencing something similar?
I noticed that ALSA drivers has been updated to 1.1.0 from 1.0.29 in OE 7.0.1. I was wondering if it could be the cause.
I have noticed also that in "Audio output device" the tree possible voices selectable for my hardware are preceeded with the word "ALSA: HDA intel etc"... with OE 6.0.3 the word "ALSA" is not appearing at all.
I would appreciate any help... I'm not a total newbie (since using XBMC from 2008), as well I'm not an expert...
Hope this Topic can help somebody else in trobleshooting similar scenarios...
Sorry for my poor english, I hope I was at least understandable...
illy:
ENRICO
