Hello OpenElec Gurus,
I followed the instructions on the Wiki, yet running into an install issue. I have an old Toshiba Satellite A505 laptop with Windows 10. I used Mini Too Partition to create about 30GB of free unpartitioned space.
1) I downloaded the latest 8.0.1 openELEC image file
2) Burnt the openELEC *.img file on a USB drive using Disk Image Writer
3) Rebooted the laptop and got into Boot menu and chose USB
4) I see the system booting from the USB, got the OpenElec Boot image and the version number loads in a couple of moments.
Thats it. Nothing happens after that, the screen is frozen with the boot image and I'm unable to proceed further. I also tried switching USB ports and 3 other USB drives but to no avail. Just to make sure my BiOS supports USB boot, I tried installing Ubuntu with an USB stick and that works.
Can you please help ?
